Procedures can be undertaken under local anaesthetic (you are awake, but the skin is asleep) or general anaesthetic (you are asleep). Depending upon the extent of surgery required and individual preferences either option is available. Mr Peach routinely works with anaesthetists who are consultant colleagues, whom he knows and whom he has worked with before.
