Post-op Wound Care

Mr Peach generally uses absorbably sutures with a paper dressing. These are sutures which do not need to be removed. The dressing is skin coloured and sticks well, but easily removed. It is porous so that the skin underneath does not get macerated and it is extremely rare to have an allergic reaction to the adhesive used. The dressing should be kept dry for 36 hours after your surgery and then you can get it wet in the shower, not a bath. Pat the dressing dry afterwards and it will fall off on its own after 2-3 weeks.
